A Ballerina Quilt for Your Little Dancer

Does your little girl love to dance? Does she wear tutus around the house and put on recitals for her stuffed animals? If so, then you might be interested in creating a dance themed bedroom to feed her passion.

Young girls love ballerinas because of their delicate, graceful movements and beautiful costumes. Create that look in her bedroom with soft colors (probably pink!) and appropriate accessories.

Start by picking up a lovely ballerina quilt for her bed and then paint the walls a nice pale pink or maybe a mint green. Toe shoes come in array of colors, the most popular being pink. Purchase a pair and hang them above the bed (make sure they are hung on a sturdy hook and are not going to fall on her while she sleeps!).

Give her plenty of room to practice her pirouette with a ballet barre attached to the wall. Pretty soon all her little friends will want to hang out in her room to play “ballet class”. Encourage it! Ballet is an excellent form of exercise and is better than sitting in front of the TV! It will also feed her imagination.

Consider a dress-up trunk where she can store costumes, tiaras, and ballet slippers, as well as a full length mirror (kids love to admire themselves in costume). You could place a silk rose on her dresser and even put some stage curtains around her bed.
